Stahlcar

How people find your range on Google and in AI search, and three things you can fix right away.

Prepared by Josh Blackman, Bump Digital. November 2026. Click Next to go through it.

Where you stand

You rank for 786 searches. 238 of your rankings are on page 1.

That’s a strong base. But under 1% of searchers click anything on page 2 of Google, so for every search outside the top 10, you’re close to invisible.

108Positions 6 to 10
187Positions 11 to 20
469Positions 21 to 50
385Positions 51 to 100

The bars add up to 1,279 because more than one of your pages can rank for the same search. Source: SE Ranking, New Zealand, November 2026, which estimates about 85 visits a month from Google. Page 2 figure: Backlinko study of about 4 million Google results, which found 0.63% of searchers clicked on page 2.

The searches that matter

What your customers are searching for

A mix of searches where you’re already strong and big ones you’re missing, with your best position for each. Click a heading to sort.

What moving up could mean

See what each position is worth

Your positions and search volumes are real data from SE Ranking. The visits are our estimate, based on typical click rates.

0

An estimate, not a guarantee. “Today” uses SE Ranking’s visit estimates. The other buttons use typical click rates: 28% at position 1, 10% at 3, 6% at 5 and 2% at 10. Real results vary, and competitive searches can take 6 to 12 months or longer.

Here are 3 immediate fixes you can make

You can do all of these without us. Click Next to go through them one at a time.

Fix 1 of 3

Your homepage has no main heading

What’s happening

Your homepage ranks for most of your biggest searches, including position 3 for “car diagnostic scanner” and “automotive scan tool”.

But the page has no H1, the main heading that tells Google what a page is about. It starts with image slides, and the first real heading is “Scan Tool Categories”.

The fix

Add one clear heading near the top of the homepage. You could use:

H1: Car Scan Tools & Diagnostic Scanners NZ

It’s a small theme change, and it doesn’t need to change how the slides look.

Fix 2 of 3

“OBD2 scanner” is your biggest gap

What’s happening

“OBD2 scanner” gets about 910 searches a month with a difficulty of 17, and you’re at position 30. Google is showing your homepage, not your OBD2 page.

That page is called “OBD2 Code Readers”, so it never says “scanner”. It still ranks at position 27 for “OBD scanner”, so Google already sees the link.

Unlike the ad you asked about in May, a free ranking costs nothing per click.

The fix

Keep the page, but use the word people search:

H1: OBD2 Scanners & Code Readers

Title: OBD2 Scanners & Code Readers NZ | Stahlcar

Use the same words on the homepage category tile, and link to it from your OBD2 buying guides.

Fix 3 of 3

Your “NZ” searches are split across four pages

What’s happening

“Car diagnostic scanner nz” gets about 90 searches a month with a difficulty of just 6. You have four pages ranking for it, at positions 54 to 85.

“Diagnostic scanner nz” is the same, with three pages at 55 to 78. These are buyers telling Google they want a local seller, which is your strength.

The fix

Make Diagnostic Tools the main page for these searches. Change its heading from “Diagnostic Tools” to “Car Diagnostic Scanners NZ”, add a short intro on local stock and support, and link to it from your blog posts.

The bigger picture

These are quick wins. Here’s what comes next.
