Design Junction

How people find your range on Google and in AI search, and three things you can fix right away.

Prepared by Josh Blackman, Bump Digital. November 2026. Click Next to go through it.

Where you stand

You rank for 4,990 searches. 1,526 of your rankings are on page 1.

That’s a strong base. But under 1% of searchers click anything on page 2 of Google, so for every search outside the top 10, you’re close to invisible.

519Positions 6 to 10
1,064Positions 11 to 20
3,144Positions 21 to 50
2,126Positions 51 to 100

The bars add up to 7,860 because more than one of your pages can rank for the same search. Source: SE Ranking, New Zealand, November 2026, which estimates about 1,480 visits a month from Google. Page 2 figure: Backlinko study of about 4 million Google results, which found 0.63% of searchers clicked on page 2.

What moving up could mean

See what each position is worth

Your positions and search volumes are real data from SE Ranking. The visits are our estimate, based on typical click rates.

0

An estimate, not a guarantee. “Today” uses SE Ranking’s visit estimates. The other buttons use typical click rates: 28% at position 1, 10% at 3, 6% at 5 and 2% at 10. Real results vary, and competitive searches can take 6 to 12 months or longer.

AI search

Shoppers are asking AI too

Google shows an AI Overview for searches like “corten steel”, “fence panels” and “letterbox”. AI answers already link to your site often, which is a strong base to build on.

Times AI answers link to each site

Here are 3 immediate fixes you can make

You can do all of these without us. Click Next to go through them one at a time.

Fix 1 of 3

Your driveway gates are showing as $0.00

What’s happening

All 12 products on your Driveway Gates page show “From: $0.00”. Across the site, 43 products are priced at $0, including balustrades and water fountains.

Your product pages handle this well, with a clear “Get a quote” button. But shoppers see the $0.00 first when browsing the range, and the code on those pages still tells Google the price is 0.

On a product that’s a big purchase, it can look like a mistake.

The fix

Ask your developer to hide the price on collection pages for quote-only products and show “Get a quote” instead.

If you can, add a real guide price, such as “From $X”. Then remove the 0 price from the product data, so Google isn’t reading it.

Fix 2 of 3

You’re on page 5 for your own material

What’s happening

“Corten steel” gets about 880 searches a month with a low difficulty score of 4, and you’re at position 42. Google is showing your homepage.

You make corten products across your whole range, but there’s no main page about it. Your Materials & Finishes page only mentions corten five times.

The fix

Build one Corten Steel NZ page: what it is, how it weathers, how long it lasts, and links to your corten ranges. You could use:

Title: Corten Steel NZ | NZ Made Screens, Planters & Edging | Design Junction

Description: NZ made corten steel screens, planters, edging and gates from Christchurch. See how corten weathers and find the right product.

Fix 3 of 3

Your own pages are competing for gate and letterbox searches

What’s happening

“Driveway gate nz” gets about 590 searches a month with a difficulty of just 5. Gates & Entry ranks at 30 and Driveway Gates at 40, and all 12 driveway gates sit on both pages.

The Driveway Gates page’s main heading is “Double Leaf Swing Driveway Gates”, not what people search for.

Letterboxes have the same issue: two collections share nine products, and “letterbox” (about 1,900 searches a month) has you at 63.

The fix

Make Driveway Gates the main page for that search, change its heading to “Driveway Gates NZ”, and link to it clearly from Gates & Entry.

Then merge your two letterbox collections into one and redirect the other.

These are quick wins. Here’s what comes next.
